Setting our mouse free
It was yesterday noon that my girlfriend called me at work and told me we have a mouse in our kitchen. Honestly I didn´t believe her, she tends to freak out a little when she´s at home alone and our old house cracks and squeeks a little. But I was wrong. As I got home and checked our kitchen cabinet, I found it full of mouse feces, AND worst of all, all my great honey and sesame crackers were chewed on. War!
So I sat down for a couple of minutes in the evening and came up with a mouse trap to capture the vicious beast (alive!). It consisted of a cooking pot, a tight piece of steel wire connected to a toothpick on the one end (which kept the lid half way open) and to a honey and sesame cracker on the other. Once the mouse would chew on the cracker it would make the wire move, which will bring the toothpick to fall and capture the vicious animal.
I didn´t really believe it would work but today around 15:30 we heard the lid fall.
I don´t know what´s more funny as we sat the mouse free, my girlfriends high pitched scream, or my first reaction “…can´t we keep it?” that thing was so cute! I kind of hope it comes back so I can think of another trap to capture it.
