Dresden Future Forum
It was a whopping twelve hour ride I had to take from the Netherlands to Dresden. Naturally I was a little shaky when I stepped out the train, especially because I spend the biggest part of those twelve hours talking to some really nice Mexican-Americans that constantly kept buying me beer, -but that´s a whole different story.
First speaker at the Dresden Future was Ray Kurzweil who, how could it be different, told his story of exponential growth of technology. This story wasn´t entirely new, but nonetheless very interesting. Before he starts showing slides, that you won´t be able to decipher anyway because of my shaky hands and low camera quality, he sums up why something unpredictable is predictable. To me the most beautiful part of his speech, as he talks about very basic human characteristics. So check out the extract.
